Norman McLaren response

I believe a lot of what we saw is achieved by painting film stock and scratching the paint off. It reminded me of Stan Brakhage and his work. The speed of the music matched the action on screen. The colors also played into the mood and pace of the music. I would say the sound played a huge part of the film. It gave it a sense of feeling in addition to the images on screen. During slow, poetic moments there was a piano playing and the movement on screen was subtle and playful. During fast-paced moments the music was lively and the images were colorful.
